All natural organic sucanat is the perfect substitute for brown sugar in all of your recipes.
Sucanat is non-refined cane sugar that has not had the molasses removed from it like refined white sugar. Unlike regular brown sugar, sucanat is grainy instead of crystalline. Sucanat is darker in color than other cane juice crystals and tends to have some of the bitter molasses flavor.

Really the only place I can find the consistently textured Sucanat brand of truly raw sugar. I have been using this exclusively in my sugar bowl and baking after reading America's Test Kitchen's Naturally Sweet cookbook.
